Round valley famous for its prestine aqua blue water and trophy fish production is also famous for something else I learned today. The lake is absolutely notorious for extreme weather conditions, depths of 200 feet and also the number of bodies that have been pulled from this massive reservoir. Today me and Russ were in for a day that we would never forget. We launched from the boat launch around 9 am and began trolling sutton spoons in search of some lake trout. Around 11 am Russ finally landed a 22 inch beauty in around 90 ft of water near the south tower. After about another hour of trolling we decided to head for the shallows and fish for browns. As we rounded the corner of ranger cove we noticed a few people standing ashore and staring at a lifeless body that had once again surfaced from the depths of round valley. We were in complete and total shock and headed for the boat launch and decided to call it a day. It was a good reminder and a wake up call of how dangerous the sport of fishing can be . Especially on round valley.
